About Valerie Moran

Leveraging decades of teaching experience, Valerie Moran served Fort Lauderdale, FL-based students at Arthur Ashe Middle School. As business technology teacher, she worked to create partnerships between the Broward County, FL, middle school and businesses interested in providing funds to purchase clothing and furnish housing for students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Moreover, Valerie Moran fundraised on behalf of the school’s yearbook organization and taught students valuable computer skills.

In the lead up to her education career, Valerie Moran enrolled at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated with her master’s degree in business and vocational education. Earlier, she studied at Michigan State University, from which she secured her bachelor of science in home economics education.

Once finished with her undergraduate training, she gained valuable in-the-classroom experience at Clintondale Schools, where she taught home economics and chaired the Home Economics Department. She would go on to serve Grosse Pointe Public Schools in her capacity as life skills teacher.

For recreation, she enjoys cooking, having worked on two cookbooks for local charities. She has been a guest chef on more than a dozen cable cooking shows and was also a guest chef on a radio program called “Ask the Chef”. She has taken classes in woodworking and helped to build a playhouse which was donated to a preschool. She is also involved in upholstery classes.
